- Woke up normal time: 7:00AM EST
- Full flight, No upgrades.
- The Opinion, 6’1″ to spend 5 1/2 hours on a plane in a MIDDLE SEAT. No emergency rows or bulkheads available.
- 45 Minutes extra wait on the tarmac before take off.
- Airline plays Dr. Doolittle 3 as in flight movie. Out comes the laptop and DVDs. First I watched Episode 2 of The Wire, 3rd Season. Guns, Drugs, Sex and Violence, African American inner city criminology. Should I have been concerned about the perceptions of the lady to my right? I don’t think so. She’s seen it all before. Either she knows the difference between entertainment and the reality sitting in the next seat or she doesn’t. (“Am I still black? They tell me I’m so articulate.” Remind me to write that article)
- Next I watched Arnold Schwarzeneger’s Pumping Iron, about the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competition 1975. Much of this movie takes place in Gold’s Gym in Venice.
- Landed, rented a car, shot over to my boy’s crib, changed clothes and went with him his gym. Guess Where? Gold’s Gym in Venice. Repeatedly lifted heavy weights off my chest. Swole Muffin.
- Ate, hung out with M..Dot until 12:30a (3:30AM EST). This guy eats too late.
- Sleep.
Stay tuned for the excitement of day 2.
