Life is full of rewards and punishments.
For example, have you ever missed out on something that made a lot of money because you didn’t follow through? Like maybe a bet that you had a hunch about, but didn’t lay down the money. How about finding out, after the fact, that a certain girl (or boy) had a crush on you, but you didn’t know (*$#!). That feeling that you have afterwards, wanting to kick yourself, is a punishment. For most, this punishment is more memorable and more lasting than any ever dished out by our parents. These punishments linger inside our minds forever as waiting reminders of our mistakes.
On the other hand, we have all experienced how it feels to be a winner. Do you remember the last time you felt good enough to riase your hands in the air in victory? It could have been as simple as winning a sports competition, beating someone or a team you didn’t like. Maybe it was a longer trial like passing a really hard exam, running a marathon, losing weight, or graduating from school or a boot camp. In any case YOU WON BECAUSE YOU WORKED HARD AND FOLLOWED THROUGH. And in the end, YOU FELT GREAT!
Life is full of opportunities to win or lose, and we have the power to choose. The reason we play is rooted in the things we desire. We want bigger houses, nicer cars, fancier clothes, and better relationships. We want to eat better food and have better bodies as well. All of these are rewards for making the right choices. So in the end, how we feel about ourselves tomorrow is the result of the choices we make today.
Choose Wisely.
To the Victor goes the spoils.
